Taylor Update: Quiet Day, Well Rested
Taylor had a good night’s sleep last night! He’s getting plenty of rest this weekend so he’s ready for his week of therapy!
It was a relatively quiet day and T kind of needed that. I am glad he had a slower day, so he could rest and get some quality ‘him’ time.
He spent a lot of time ‘watching’ TV – today was “How I met your mother” and well… more ‘Office’ LOL He loves that show!
For dinner, he got to spend some time out in the courtyard at the cafeteria – since this all started, he really hasn’t been outside much. I know he is looking to doing that more and more!
It’s becoming a bit of a habit of his to ‘explore’ after meals in his wheelchair. He rides around trying to use the overhead lights to ‘find’ his way through the tables/chairs in the cafeteria. He does quite well actually, and it’s fun for him too – a bit of a challenge. It impresses me that he keeps trying this… it seems like it could get frustrating, but he has such a good outlook on things, he even cracks a few jokes about things.
Today, while exploring the cafeteria… and remember, he doesn’t like to be given assistance/help in finding his way… He found himself in a corner. That’s probably where I would have been frustrated… nope, not him… he just chuckles… Oh! Is this a corner? And then says with a laugh… ‘Nobody puts baby in a corner!’ LOL This kid… ❤️
We are all looking forward to what this week will bring… Taylor’s determination will surely bring some more pennies for him and his rehabilitation! I CAN’T WAIT!!! Tomorrow will be AWESOME!!!
I hope your weekend was what you needed to rest for the busy week ahead. Mondays are our new favorite day of the week! After all, it IS the first day of the work week, so we have a clean slate… Let’s all give it all we got and make it the best possible!!
Please continue to fight with us!! Please send your love, thoughts and prayers for Taylor, his recovery and his vision! We need it now more than ever! Jennifer Dorward and I don’t want to be distracted by how far we have come… we still have a long road ahead and we are no where near done!!
